Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Sunday-10 2000750

What can you expect on a typical Sunday morning?

We meet at 11:00am in our Church Building (details here). For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to settle in, meet our team and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. We have a reasonably sized car park and there is also free parking in the streets around the church.

When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone at the front door.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets to the rear of the building.

Our Morning Service
Sunday-34 ed2000The service begins with a welcome from one of our team members, along with a few notices. Our services usually include a mixture of congregational songs (new and old), as well as one or two bible readings (we give out the page numbers so everyone can follow along). There will also be a time of prayer, led by the speaker. We believe that God's Word is what God uses to change our hearts and lives, so there will always be a bible-based sermon to help us apply the truth to our everyday lives. We usually end with a final song and closing prayer.

We're a friendly, relaxed bunch and we want you to feel totally at ease with us. The person leading the service will guide everything so you won't ever be scratching your head wondering, "what do I do now!"

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits immediately after the service. It's a great way to meet people and we would love it if you could stay for a few minutes to meet folks. All refreshments are free.

What about my kids?
Sunday-22 ed2000750We believe children are a vital part of church life and we want them to feel included in all we do. Children stay in the main meeting with adults for roughly the first 15 minutes. During that time we usually include a short "children's talk," and there's often a kid's song too. After that, we run "Junior Church," in our side hall, with activities and bible teaching aimed at their level. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. After you've dropped your kids off at their groups, please re-join us and enjoy the rest of the service. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Adam Laughton (Pastor)   David Platts (Church Secretary)
We're delighted to welcome Adam and his wife Jules to Whitstable! Before coming here, they were involved in a house-based church planting work in Ebbsfleet, Kent for 11 years. Prior to that they were working in a Baptist church in Southport, Merseyside. They have four adult children.   I was privileged to be brought up in a Christian family and although I don’t know exactly when I was converted I was aware of the Lord being my Saviour from a very young age. I am a retired teacher, having taught in Canterbury for over 40 years.  Whilst there the Lord brought Helen, now my wife, to the same school and we have been happily married for over 40 years.  We have two grown up children.

We hope that whoever you are, you will feel at home at our church.

Best Wishes
